Deacons are servants. Biblical deacons were ordained so that the 5-fold offices could focus on prayer and the study of the Word (see Acts 6). Deacons’ primary function deals with ministries of helps. Deacons within the local church attend to the function of the church, cleaning, dispersal of resources to those in need, taking care of general duties so that the function of the church is unhindered. This office is for “helps ministry”.

Deacons can also have a secondary anointing, for example, a pastoral-deacon would be someone who has strong growth potential for the pastoral, but is not released yet into the pastoral. Their primary role would be to serve within the pastoral group as one who is growing in that anointing and by helping administrate, implement, and activate the strategies of the pastoral team (or whichever team they belong to).

If you want to be mentored and equipped in serving and finding your place in the local church, where you can connect, and how you can best help, contact one of the individuals.
